2010 Events and Meetings
Florence is proud of its events. From May to New Years, we have our major events and the Florentine Players have events throughout the year. Read more details on each one. Several events are yearly neighborhood traditions. "Florence Days" is celebrated in May. The holiday season is celebrated with Christmas Tree Lighting in Florence Park by the Florence Historical Foundation, along with the annual Gingerbread display at the Mormon Trail Center from early December until Christmas Eve. Florence organization meeting dates are shown on the organizations page. See left side for events for today, tomorrow, and the upcoming weekend.
Some events are recurring events. Some dates shown are based on past year information. Some details for later in the year events may change. Check with any contacts for confirmation. Florence Futures Foundation makes an effort to provide accurate information, however, we do not guarantee the accuracy of any event details.
2010 Events in Historic Florence:*
All 2010 events have not been officially supplied. Most items on this page have been deducted by the web developer from the 2009 schedule, and are likely correct. Florence Days will be on the 8th and 9th. The Florentine Players information is based on data published by the Florentine Players and therefore likely very correct. End of year Holiday events (Gingerbread, Tree Lighting, Caroling) have been consistent and also likely correct.
Events in question are the NOCC picnic, Boy Scouts event, Connor Meigs Award recipient and special day, Art Loft show name and contents, North Hills Pottery Tour Event, Notre Dame Convent Auction, and possibly Antique Auction, Florentine Players December Melodrama, Garage Sales, and Fabulous ROGUES events. Also details of Florence Days may vary from below, such as band, or locations, or time of day. Updates and confirmations needed as soon as possible; the world is watching and already asking for 2010 information.

Joe Starita, distinguished author on Chief Standing Bear, will come to Florence Monday evening, 7:00, to present an important part of our history.
The North Omaha Commercial Club (NOCC) is bringing him to Florence City Hall, West Wing, 29th & State - The 7 P.M. program is open to the public, free, with the hope that we will become more interested in a significant national event that took place on Fort Omaha. In the trial, Judge Dundy not only declared Indians to be persons in the view of U.S. law, but stated that they had a right to emigrate from their nation to ours, as could any person from another nation. That changed history..and who we are.
- Please invite others who may be interested to come.
