Historic Markers

Florence has more history markers in one square mile than anywhere else in the entire state.  A great time to experience the markers is during the Florence Days celebration that happens in May.  You can pick up a map and guide to visit many historic markers.

  The original Florence City Hall faced 29th Street.  The marker is on 29th Street, south of the Firehouse, and at the west end of the new Florence City Hall building (which faces State Street).

  69th Street is a short street connecting McKinley Street and Bennington Road (T intersections at both ends).  Right at the intersection of 69th and Bennington Road, and to the east of 69th, and south of Bennington Road is the historic marker.
