Historic Markers
Florence has more history markers in one square mile than anywhere else in the entire state. We have three standup historic markers, and quite a few more that are embedded in the sidewalks, or in granite around our area.* A great time to experience the markers is during the Florence Days celebration that happens on the third (or fourth) weekend of May. You can pick up a map and guide to visit many historic markers.
Also see the Historic Sites page.
