Event Details2006 Parade Theme: "The Many Hats of Florence."May 20, 2006: Florence Days Parade: Florence celebrates its heritage each year with a parade and lots of other activities the third weekend of May. The celebration is organized by the Florence Historical Foundation. The celebration is organized by the Florence Historical Foundation. The parade continues a tradition that started with a horse club parade years ago (1960). It grew. The 2006 parade was a very special parade. The 2006 theme was, "The Many Hats of Florence." The path traveled was from Redick Street to Fillmore Street. The Grand Marshal was Niki Keller. The parade was led by the 2006 Honor Guard, the Cub Scouts. The 2006 parade is organized by Dick Brown of Dick's Place (for the Florence Historical Foundation), which is the barber shop in the old Toll Booth building located at 3010 Willit (next to the Bank of Florence). The phone number at Dick's Place is 402-453-6688. Paul Bogard, President of the Florence Historical Foundation said that floats can be added up to the last minute. "They just get tacked on to the end." |
